. She was one of four children. Her brother Tommy died as a toddler and her brother Harry was lost in action during World War II. She is survived by her sister Ann (Betty) Hyde. While working in the shipyards in Portland, she met her future husband, Fred Nichols. They were married shortly after meeting and had been married 50 years when he died in November 1996.
