Thursday, Aug. 4

  • Traffic assist performed for a disabled vehicle near milepost 22 on Hebo Road.
  • Assisted outside agency with a crash that occurred at highways 18B and 22. Officers provided traffic control.
  • Assisted outside agency in the 9600 block of Grand Ronde Road.
  • Citizen contact occurred in the 26000 block of Salmon River Highway.
  • Traffic assist on a traffic stop near milepost 26 on Highway 18. A confused elderly driver was contacted and provided a courtesy ride back to their residence.

Friday, Aug. 5

  • Traffic assist performed for a disabled vehicle near milepost 24 on Highway 18.
  • Citizen contact occurred in the 9600 block of Grand Ronde Road.
  • Assisted outside agency with a domestic disturbance in the 200 block Cherry Hill Road. Officers responded and assisted Yamhill County Sheriff’s deputies with the arrest of the involved male.
  • Assisted outside agency with a single vehicle rollover crash near milepost 18.5 on Highway 18. An officer responded and provided traffic control.
  • Domestic disturbance reported in the 100 block of Wind River Drive. Officers responded and determined the incident was not criminal.

Saturday, Aug. 6

  • Assisted outside agency with a traffic hazard between mileposts 16 and 19 on Highway 18. An officer responded to a male dancing in traffic.
  • DUII crash reported in the 27000 block of Salmon River Highway. Officers arrived and the driver was arrested for DUII.
  • Drug complaint reported in the 26000 block of Salmon River Highway.
  • Theft/elude/escape/reckless driving reported in the 27000 block of Salmon River Highway. Officers were contacted for a reported theft at the location. A traffic stop was attempted on the suspect, who fled in his vehicle after being told he was under arrest. The suspect was pursued by multiple agencies and ended up ramming his way through two security gates at McMinnville Police Department’s secured parking lot.

Sunday, Aug. 7

  • Traffic assist performed on a disabled vehicle near milepost 25.5 on Highway 18.
  • Drug complaint reported in the 27000 block of Salmon River Highway. Officers responded and found drugs.
  • Drug complaint reported in the 27000 block of Salmon River Highway. Officers responded and found drugs.
  • Assisted outside agency with a crash that occurred at Highway 18 at A. R. Ford Road. Officers responded to a single vehicle, minor injury crash that closed both lanes of the highway for almost an hour.
  • Attempt to locate after receiving a driving complaint near milepost 19 on Highway 18. Officers were out of position and were not able to locate the vehicle due to heavy traffic and time delay.

Monday, Aug. 8

  • Property found in the 27000 block of Salmon River Highway. The owner was located and the property was returned.
  • Suspicious activity reported in the 27000 block of Salmon River Highway. A male was sharpening a knife in the area. Officer contacted the male who did not have a knife, but was working on a broken lighter.
  • Assisted outside agency with a crash that occurred near milepost 17 on Highway 18. Oregon State Police requested officers check on a vehicle that had hit a tree. Officers located the vehicle, which was unoccupied.
  • Attempt to locate a traffic hazard near milepost 11 on Highway 22. Officers were forwarded a report of a vehicle driving westbound on Highway 22 with visible flames coming out from under the vehicle. Officers were later advised the vehicle had pulled over and was fully engulfed. Polk County Sheriff’s deputies located the vehicle and advised that they did not need assistance.
  • Attempt to locate a possible DUII in the 27100 block of Salmon River Highway. Officers received a report of an intoxicated driver leaving going eastbound on Highway 18. Officers were out of position for the call and unable to locate the vehicle due to a time delay.

Tuesday, Aug. 9

  • Stolen vehicle reported in the 27000 block of Salmon River Highway. Suspect information was developed and will be followed up on.
  • Driving complaint reported in the 26000 block of Salmon River Highway. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle due to a time delay.
  • Attempt to locate a stolen vehicle in the 27000 block of Salmon River Highway. Officers received report of a stolen vehicle from Chinook Winds Casino in Lincoln City being at the location. The vehicle left the location before officers arrived and was located by Oregon State Police near milepost 33 on Highway 18. The vehicle was briefly pursued by Oregon State Police troopers until the suspect ditched the vehicle and ran. The suspect was located a short time later and taken into custody by Yamhill County Sheriff’s deputies.
  • Stolen vehicle reported in the 27000 block of Salmon River Highway. As officers were investigating the above mentioned stolen vehicle, they were advised that a different vehicle had been stolen from the area. It was later determined that the male arrested by Yamhill County Sheriff’s deputies was associated with the suspect involved in the second stolen vehicle.
  • Driving complaint/warrant arrest occurred in the 27000 block of Salmon River Highway. Officers located the vehicle from the driving complaint and contacted the driver, who had multiple warrants for his arrest.
  • Assisted outside agency with a report of fraud in the 27000 block of Salmon River Highway. The Dallas Police Department requested assistance from an officer for fraud involving a credit card.
  • Assisted outside agency with a neighbor dispute in the 60000 block of Hebo Road. Officers took a report of a neighbor dispute involving their cats.

Wednesday, Aug. 10

  • Drug complaint reported in the 26000 block of Salmon River Highway.
  • Disturbance reported in the 100 block of Wind River Drive. A citizen reported approximately nine intoxicated people yelling and fighting. As officers responded, they were notified the aggressor in the incident had left in a vehicle. Officers stopped a vehicle on Highway 18 and contacted the involved parties. After speaking to everyone, it was determined no crimes were committed.
  • Assisted outside agency with a driving complaint in the 27000 block of Salmon River Highway. Officers received a driving complaint that originated in the area. The original reporting party of the driving complaint followed a car into McMinnville, but it was later determined the followed vehicle was not the driving complaint vehicle. An additional agency assist was requested after Yamhill County Sheriff’s deputies located the driving complaint vehicle in Sheridan.
  • Assisted outside agency with an emotionally distressed person in the 26000 block of Salmon River Highway. Yamhill County Sheriff’s deputies requested officers contact a possible suicidal subject at the location. Officers contacted and stayed with the subject until deputies arrived and transported the subject back to McMinnville.
  • Suspicious activity reported in the area of Blacktail Drive. An officer located a suspicious person in the area while completing a check. Officers contacted and identified the suspicious person and advised them to leave the area. Officers searched the area and found an open car door shortly after contacting the suspicious person. Officers contacted the vehicle owner, who advised nothing was missing.

Thursday, Aug. 11

  • Assisted outside agency with a custody transport from a location near milepost 16 on Highway 18.
  • Property found in the 9600 block of Grand Ronde Road. The owner was located and the property was returned.
  • Received a report from the Oregon Department of Human Services regarding allegations of neglect in the 100 block of Wind River Drive.
  • Attempt to locate performed in the 9600 block of Grand Ronde Road for a possible DUII subject. Officers checked the area, but were unable to locate the subject.

Friday, Aug. 12

  • Assisted an outside agency with an alleged animal abuse/civil issue in the 60000 block of Hebo Road.
  • Assisted an outside agency with a hit-and-run in the 28000 block of Salmon River Highway.
  • Assisted an outside agency with an alarm in the 8600 block of Fort Hill Road. An employee dropped product on a panic alarm and they couldn’t reset it.
  • Investigation follow-up performed in the area of the 100 block of Wind River Drive.

Saturday, Aug. 13

  • Abandoned campsite found at Big Buck campground. A business card was left at the site and a follow-up was scheduled for the next day.
  • Property found in the 27000 block of Salmon River Highway.
  • Citizen contact occurred in the 9600 block of Grand Ronde Road. A citizen contacted officers with civil issue questions.
  • Traffic assist for a hazard occurred near milepost 19 on Highway 18. Officers removed a struck deer from the roadway.
  • Assisted an outside agency with a trespass in the 200 block of Second Street in Willamina. Officers were requested due to the subject’s past history of violence toward law enforcement. The subject was contacted and arrested without incident.
  • Traffic assist for a hazard near milepost 23 on Highway 18. Officers removed a struck deer from the roadway.

Sunday, Aug. 14

  • Abandoned campsite at Big Buck campground. Officers collected abandoned property from the location.
  • Emotionally distressed person/welfare check reported in the 27000 block of Salmon River Highway. Officers contacted a female, who was sitting in a pond. She agreed to a voluntary mental evaluation at Salem Hospital.
  • Traffic control requested from an outside agency for a fire on Hebo Road near Sourgrass Road. The fire was contained before officers arrived and traffic control was not needed.
  • Driving complaint reported near milepost 23 on Highway 22. The vehicle was located in the 26000 block of Salmon River Highway and the driver was contacted.
  • Hit-and-run reported in the 27000 block of Salmon River Highway. Officers were able to identify and contact all of the involved parties.
  • Welfare check performed in the 100 block of Wind River Drive. A resident asked for a welfare check on another resident.
  • Assisted an outside agency with a domestic disturbance in the 8500 block of Grand Ronde Road. Officer provided assistance to a Polk County Sheriff’s deputy until additional deputies responded.
  • Assisted an outside agency with a disturbance in the 16000 block of Little Hebo Road. Officer were requested to assist Yamhill County Sheriff’s deputies who were contacting a male who had used pepper spray on a dog and was reported to have additional weapons. Officers contacted all of the involved parties and determined no crimes had been committed.
  • Report of an emotionally distressed person in the 27000 block of Salmon River Highway. Officers checked the area, but were unable to find the person.

Monday, Aug. 15

  • Citizen contact occurred in the 9600 block of Grand Ronde Road. Officers were contacted by a citizen needing civil papers served to a resident of Yamhill County, who works out of the area. The citizen was provided with information on how to request getting civil papers served in different counties.
  • Assisted an outside agency with a domestic disturbance in the 9600 block of Hebo Road. Officers located a male and female who were involved in a physical dispute at a different location. Officers assisted with interviews and the male was arrested for assault.
  • Citizen contact occurred in the area of highways 18B and 22.
  • Domestic disturbance reported in the 100 block of Wind River Drive. Officer responded to a 911 hang-up at the location. When officers arrived, they heard yelling and contacted a male and female. Officers determined that no crimes were committed.

Tuesday, Aug. 16

  • Death investigation in the 48000 block of Blacktail Drive. A female resident passed away due to natural causes.
  • Traffic assist performed for a disabled motorcycle near milepost 22 on Highway 18.
  • Traffic assist performed for a disabled vehicle on Grand Ronde Road near McPherson Road.

Wednesday, Aug. 17

  • Officers assisted with the service of civil paperwork in the 9600 block of Grand Ronde Road.
  • Welfare check requested in the 9600 block of Tilixam Circle. Officers responded and verified the community member was OK.
  • Officers checked on a suspicious vehicle near milepost 23 on Highway 18. The vehicle was vacant and nobody was located in the area.
  • Officers assisted an outside agency with a traffic stop in the 26000 block of Salmon River Highway. The vehicle was towed due to suspended driving privileges and no insurance.
  • Officers assisted an outside agency with a domestic disturbance in the 1000 block of West Main Street in Sheridan. Officers determined that no crimes were committed.

Thursday, Aug. 18

  • Officers were asked to check on an unregistered camper in Big Buck campground. Officers contacted the campers and provided them with information on how to properly reserve a campsite.
  • Officers were requested to cover an outside agency in the 500 block of Northeast Sherman Street in Sheridan. Officers were told to disregard before arrival.
  • Report of a domestic disturbance in the 27000 block of Salmon River Highway. Officers checked the area, but were unable to locate the disturbance.
  • Non-injury crash occurred in the 47000 block of Hebo Road. Officers assisted with the exchange of insurance information.

Friday, Aug. 19

  • Investigation follow-up performed in the area of the 9600 block of Grand Ronde Road.
  • Reported theft in the 27000 block of Salmon River Highway. Mislaid property was taken by another person.
  • Property found in the 27000 block of Salmon River Highway.
  • Attended community event in the 9600 block of Hebo Road. Officers spent time at the Grand Ronde Contest Powwow and no issues were reported.
  • Driving under the influence of intoxicants reported near milepost 1 on Highway 22. Officers contacted a male and he was arrested for DUII (marijuana).
  • An officer contacted a male reported as a suspicious person in the 26000 block of Salmon River Highway.
  • Domestic disturbance reported in the 27000 block of Salmon River Highway. Officers contacted the involved parties and determined that no crimes were committed.

Saturday, Aug. 20

  • Attended a community event in the 9600 block of Hebo Road. Officers spent time at the Grand Ronde Contest Powwow and took a report of an assault/harassment and a couple of theft reports.
  • Traffic assist performed for a citizen locked out of their vehicle in the 9600 block of Hebo Road.
  • Officers requested by an outside agency to provide cover for a domestic disturbance in the 300 block of Northeast First Street in Willamina. The suspect left the area before officers arrived and probable cause to arrest the suspect for menacing was developed after an investigation.
  • Officers assisted an outside agency with a DUII investigation in Sheridan.

Sunday, Aug. 21

  • Attempt to locate a motorcycle that eluded Oregon State Police troopers on Highway 18. Officer received a report of a motorcycle that had eluded multiple agencies between McMinnville and Grand Ronde at speeds of more than 100 mph. The motorcycle was located on Highway 18 near milepost 29, but a traffic stop was not attempted due to the motorcycle exceeding speeds of 100 mph and driving recklessly. The motorcycle was later located in Lincoln City and the driver was arrested.
  • Traffic assist performed for a citizen locked out of their vehicle in the 9600 block of Hebo Road.
  • Report of a domestic disturbance in the 27000 block of Salmon River Highway. Officers checked the area, but were unable to locate the disturbance.
  • Welfare check performed in the 26000 block of Salmon River Highway. An officer contacted an intoxicated male and provided him a ride.

Monday, Aug. 22

  • Citizen contact occurred in the 100 block of Wind River Drive.
  • Non-injury crash reported in the 9600 block of Hebo Road. Officers arrived and assisted with the exchange of insurance information.
  • Attempt to locate a potential DUII vehicle in the 27000 block of Salmon River Highway. Officers checked the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle due to a time delay.
  • Officers contacted a suspicious vehicle on private property in the 9600 block of Grand Ronde Road. Officers contacted the vehicle’s occupants and told them to move along.

Tuesday, Aug. 23

  • Welfare check requested in the 48000 block of Eagle Loop. Officers responded and verified the community member was OK.
  • Suspicious vehicle reported in the 9600 block of Grand Ronde Road. Officers checked on the vehicle, which was vacant and nobody was located in the area.

Wednesday, Aug. 24

  • Drug complaint reported in the 27000 block of Grand Ronde Road.
  • Traffic assist for a citizen locked out of their vehicle in the 27000 block of Grand Ronde Road.
  • Officers assisted with a community member’s funeral procession.
  • Officers assisted an outside agency as they located and arrested an elude suspect in Sheridan.  

Thursday, Aug. 25

  • Investigation follow-up performed in the area of the 9600 block of Grand Ronde Road.
  • Officers attended a department training.

Friday, Aug. 26

  • Officers contacted a suspicious vehicle near milepost 22 on Highway 18. The driver was heading to Lincoln City and had stopped to rest.
  • Theft reported in the 26000 block of Salmon River Highway.
  • Investigation follow-up performed in the area of the 2200 block of Northeast McDaniel Lane in McMinnville. Officers contacted a suspect who was arrested for multiple crimes.
  • Theft reported in the 9600 block of Grand Ronde Road.
  • Trespass reported in Elder housing. Officers contacted a previously trespassed male and arrested him for trespass.

Saturday, Aug. 27

  • Lost property reported in the 9600 block of Grand Ronde Road.
  • Officers assisted an outside agency with a struck deer near milepost 24 on Highway 18.
  • Non-injury crash occurred near milepost 24 on Highway 18. Officers assisted with the exchange of insurance information.
  • Domestic disturbance reported in the 9600 block of Tilixam Circle. Officers arrived and both involved parties were arrested.
  • Fraud reported in the 26000 block of Salmon River Highway. Counterfeit jewelry was sold by an unknown subject.
  • Officers were requested to cover an outside agency in the 300 block of Northwest First Street in Willamina.

Sunday, Aug. 28

  • Domestic disturbance reported in the 26000 block of Salmon River Highway. Officers determined that no crimes were committed.
  • Emotionally distressed person reported in the 25000 block of Salmon River Highway. Officers responded and located a person who had stabbed themselves. The person was treated by medics and transported to the hospital for further care.
  • Officers contacted a suspicious vehicle near milepost 24 on Hebo Road. The occupants were advised that they were trespassing.

Monday, Aug. 29

  • Theft reported in the 27000 block of Salmon River Highway.
  • Officers assisted an outside agency with an emotionally distressed person in the 9300 block of Grand Ronde Road.

Tuesday, Aug. 30

  • Attempt to locate for a vehicle towing an RV with people inside consuming alcohol. Officers checked the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle.
  • Report of lost property in Grand Ronde housing.
  • Officers contacted a subject and served a trespass notice, excluding them from all of Grand Ronde Tribal lands and properties.
  • Drug complaint reported in the 27000 block of Salmon River Highway.
  • Officers assisted an outside agency with a non-injury crash near milepost 23 on Highway 18.

Wednesday, Aug. 31

  • Officers attended a department training.
  • Attempt to locate a vehicle driving westbound on Highway 22, passing other vehicles in an unsafe manner. Officers checked the area, but were unable to locate it.
  • Citizen contact occurred in the 9600 block of Grand Ronde Road.
