Betty Maxine Jeffers Reed

March 1, 1928 – Feb. 17, 2021

Proud Tribal Elder Betty Maxine Jeffers Reed, loving mother, sister, grandmother and friend, passed away from natural causes on Feb. 17, 2021, in Eugene, Ore.

She was born in Alma, Ore., on March 1, 1928, to Ira Jeffers and Bertha Luce. Betty loved the freedom she felt from travel and car rides, hunting, fishing and going to Em’s baseball games, as well as embroidering, her flowers and most of all spending time with her family and Tribe.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ira and Bertha Jeffers, and daughters, Donna Burkett and LaVonne Dorning. She is survived by her daughters, Raelene Cox, Elaine Sihilling, Beverly Morgan and Lola Gray; son, Jay Reed; and by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Betty will be missed dearly. The family held a small family celebration of life with family and friends in remembrance of Betty on March 20 at Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene.
