Anthony Joseph Lane

Feb. 5, 1959 - May 28, 2011

Tribal member Anthony "Tony" Joseph Lane, 52, a resident of Dallas, walked on while fishing on the Willamette River on Thursday, May 5, and was recovered from the river on Saturday, May 28, 2011.

He was born on Feb. 5, 1959, in Schurz, Nev., the son of David Leroy and Renee LaRose Lawe Lane. He attended Englewood and Parrish schools and graduated from North Salem High School in 1977. He played on the football team that went to the state tournament.

Tony graduated from Chemeketa Community College with an associate degree in electronics. He was working as a network engineer for Spirit Mountain Casino.

He had a passion for fishing, boating, motorcycles and scuba diving. He enjoyed coaching his son's Little League baseball and football teams. Tony was good with wood and made many things along with the ability to fix just about anything. He had a happy, caring, outgoing and helpful personality. He was a member of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde.

He is survived by his son, Joseph of Dallas; granddaughter, Alice; parents, David and Renee of Salem; brother, Reynold of Tucson, Ariz.; and sister, Faye Miller of Willamina, along with several nieces of nephews.

A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Friday, June 3, in the Grand Ronde Tribal gymnasium. Interment will be in the Grand Ronde Tribal Cemetery.
