Tribal Elder and longtime Tribal employee Deborah Diane Marrington passed away May 20, 2025, at the age of 72.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 7, at the Grand Ronde Tribal Cemetery shelter, followed by a burial at the same location.
Bollman’s Tribute Center is assisting the family.

Robert Burton “Bob” Duncan
Sept. 21, 1944 – April 10, 2025
Tribal spouse Robert Burton “Bob” Duncan passed away April 10, 2025, at the age of 80.
Robert was born Sept. 21, 1944, in Boulder, Colorado, to Jack and Leona Duncan. When he was 5 years old, the family moved to Oregon, which Robert called home for the remainder of his life.
After graduating high school, he served in the United States Navy for four years as a Boatswain’s Mate. He married the love of his life, Julie White, on Dec. 12, 1969.
He loved fishing and hunting, as well as spending time with family and his German Shorthaired Pointer, River.
Robert is survived by his wife, Julie; daughters, Leighann Kohary, Susan Sanders and Erin Castro; along with seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Leona Duncan; sister, Sunday Staples; and brother, Jack R. Duncan.
An interment service will be held at the Grand Ronde Tribal Cemetery at 11 a.m. Friday, June 13. Lunch will follow at the Elders Activity Center.
