2010 – A poll released by the political action committee Our Oregon found that only one-third of Oregonians support the idea of a privately operated casino in the state. Measure 75, which would allow a private casino in Wood Village, was opposed by 51 percent of respondents, according to the poll.

2005 – The Youth Prevention Program invited Jackie Bird (Hidasta) to perform a variety of entertaining skits, including a hoop dance, for the Head Start Program.

2000 – The Tribe hosted a group from the Willamette National Forest for a tour of the Tribe’s Reservation lands and Tribal campus. The five ranger district representatives and the Tribe came together for a two-day team building and learning event. Twenty-two Forest Service employees attended.

1995 – More than 600 Tribal members voted, making it the most widely-participated election the Tribe has ever had. Kathryn Harrison and Ed Larsen were re-elected and Margaret Provost was elected.

1990 – New reports said that the average high school dropout rate in Oregon was 7.4 percent, but that minorities dropped out at higher rates with Hispanics leaving school prematurely at a 14.3 percent rate, African Americans at 8.8 percent and Native Americans at 12.3 percent.

1985 – Tribal Council Chair Henry Petite reported that Public Relations liaison Kathryn Harrison had set up appointments with county commissions, local cities, area mills and with Rep. Les AuCoin and Sen. Mark Hatfield regarding the Tribe’s Reservation Plan before it is submitted to Congress by the Secretary of the Interior.
