2008 - Tribal member Jan Michael Looking Wolf Reibach was selected by both the Indian Summer Music Awards and the Native American Music Awards as the best Native Flutist of the Year. He became the only Native American flutist to win both prestigious awards in the same year.

2003 - Families have been moving into the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde's new housing development, Chxi Musam Illihi, a 36-unit housing complex. About 23 families had moved in so far. "The dishwasher is awesome," said new resident Kimberly Contreras, who occupies a four-bedroom unit.

1998 - Tribal members were invited to vote on the name change of the newspaper to the Grand Ronde Review. Choices were sticking with the new Grand Ronde Review name or adopting either Grand Ronde Tribal Review, Grand Ronde Native Review, Five Feathers News, Grand Ronde Tribal News or returning to the previous name, Smoke Signals.

1993 - Publications does not have a copy of the October 1993 Smoke Signals.

1988 - The Tribe scheduled a Reservation Celebration for Oct. 22 at Grand Ronde Elementary School to commemorate President Ronald Reagan signing the Grand Ronde Indian Reservation Act into law on Sept. 9.
