Jan. 31 training session to examine sexual assault

The Northwest Portland Area Indian Health Board will sponsor a Tribal Sexual Assault Dynamics Training session from 9 a.m. to noon Thursday, Jan. 31, in the Tribal Community Center.

The training will provide an overview of sexual assault, show how the portrayal of American Indian/Alaska Native women today contributes to higher incidences of sexual assault in Indian Country, provide tools for effective and appropriate responses to sexual assault and explore options for a community response.
