Whilamut Passage Bridge naming ceremony set for Sept. 29

The Whilamut Passage Bridge Naming Ceremony will occur 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, at the Whilamut Natural Area, northwest of Knickerbocker Bridge in Alton Baker Park, Eugene. ODOT,

Grand Ronde Tribal representatives and community volunteers will attend to officially name the new Interstate 5 bridge. Attendees should park their vehicles at the University of Oregon Motor Pool. 3233 Franklin Blvd., Eugene, and allow 20 minutes to walk to the ceremony. Signs will point the way. A courtesy shuttle will be available.

The ceremony will include brief remarks, Tribal presentations and an unveiling of the new Whilamut Passage Bridge highway sign.
