Donald Earl Erickson

July 3, 1954 – Oct. 1, 2018

Tribal Elder Donald Earl Erickson, 64, a lifetime resident of the Harbor, died on Oct. 1, 2018, at his home in Hoquiam, Wash. He was born on July 3, 1954, in Aberdeen, Wash., to Ragnar William and Florence Roseanna (Cunningham) Erickson.

In his younger years, he work in local shake mills until an on-the-job injury ended his career. He loved watching his older brother Rick drag race his Corvette. Don spent most of his time working on and restoring cars of all kinds. He also loved spending time with his son and dogs.

 

Surviving relatives include his son, Justin Erickson of Hoquiam; daughter, Rachele Erickson of Aberdeen; three grandchildren, Paige Elizabeth Erickson of Elma, Wash., Chase Daniel Earl Reeder of Hoquiam and Maddison Rayne Reeder of Aberdeen; brothers, Rick Erickson of Centralia, Wash., and William Erickson of Aberdeen; sisters, Jean Tietzel and Donna Erickson of Napavine, Wash.; and his companion, Diane Powell of Hoquiam.

A sister, Sharon Emery, and three brothers, Stanley, Kenneth and Delmer Erickson, died previously.

A visitation will be held at the Coleman Mortuary in Hoquiam from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 8.

An urn committal service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10, at Hoquiam’s Sunset Memorial Park.

Cremation arrangements are by Coleman Mortuary in Hoquiam.
