Tribal Elder Julie Ann (Emery) Conway, 55, a resident of Lucerne, Calif., passed away on Saturday, Dec. 10, 2016, at her home.

Julie was born in Aberdeen, Wash., on Jan. 29, 1961, to Charles R. and Sharon M. (Erickson) Emery. She attended school in Hoquiam, Wash.

She was an enrolled member of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde. She enjoyed playing guitar and singing, spending time at the river and family barbecues.

Julie married Randall Conway in 1985 in Aberdeen and was later divorced.

She is survived by six children, Jason Leroy Conway, Randall Lynn Conway and Timothy Daniel Conway of Hoquiam, Robert Charles Conway of Aberdeen, Jessica Marie Adams of Vancouver, Wash., and Alissa Michelle Blanton of Lucerne, Calif.; two sisters, Theresa L. Emery of Aberdeen and Tammie L. (Emery) Davis of Westport, Wash.; and three brothers, Daniel D. Emery of Hoquiam, Dennis C. Emery of Westport and Douglas R. Emery of Aberdeen. She also is survived by five grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Jason W. Emery of Hoquiam.

An urn committal service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 30, at Hoquiam’s Sunset Memorial Park.

Arrangements were made by Coleman Mortuary in Hoquiam.
