Clementine F. Reed

April, 29, 1925 – Oct. 13, 2016

Tribal Elder Clementine “Clem” Reed, 91, passed away peacefully on Oct. 13, 2016, surrounded by her loving family.

Clem was born on April 29, 1925, the only child to parents David and Bertha LaChance in Grand Ronde, Ore. The family later moved to McMinnville where Clem attended St. James Catholic School and McMinnville High School.

Clem met and married the love of her life, Tony Reed, in McMinnville, where they raised their three children, Dick, Deanna and Janet. Clem’s life career was making a home for her husband and family. She was a loving mother and grandmother.

Clem spent much of her adult years caring for her parents until their deaths. She enjoyed traveling with her family, going on cruises, dining in different restaurants, going to Spirit Mountain Casino, watching “Days of Our Lives” since it first aired and NASCAR races. One of the many highlights of Clem’s life was attending the NASCAR races in Las Vegas. Clem brought much joy to her family and was loved so much in return.

Clem was preceded in death by her husband, Tony; her parents, David and Bertha LaChance; and her son, Gerald “Dick” Reed. She is survived by her daughters Deanna (Bob) Johnston and Janet (John) Giddings; her daughter-in-law, Mary Reed; and the most wonderful 14 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren.

Viewing will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19, at Macy and Son Funeral Home in McMinnville. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, at St. James Catholic Church in McMinnville and interment will occur at St. James Catholic Church immediately following the service returning to St. James Fellowship Hall for refreshments.
