Tribal Elder Floreine Constance Ray, 95, walked on Dec. 28, 2012, in Kailua Kona, Hawaii, following a brief illness. She was the Tribe's fifth eldest member at the time of her passing.

She was the daughter of Jasper and Josephine Boydston. She resided in Grand Ronde and then she and her husband, Kenneth F. Ray, moved to Salem.

She was preceded in death by Kenneth in 2002. She is survived by her only child, Judy Kansier; grandchildren Victor, Jeffrey Valera, Gina Valera Rentz and Michael Rentz; and great-granddaughter Ruby Rentz.

She was a bookkeeper for Murphy Lumber Co. in Grand Ronde and then worked for the state of Oregon Real Estate Division until she retired.

Floreine resided in Kailua Kona with her daughter and grandson, Jeff, for the last three years. She loved the weather and the beauty of the Big Island. She is missed every day. Aloha, Nanas.
