JoAnne Lois Schank

April 28, 1943 - April 18, 2012

Tribal Elder JoAnne Lois Schank, 68, lost her long battle with cancer on April 18, 2012. She crossed over with loved ones by her side in the comfort of her own home.

There are not enough words to describe the beautiful person JoAnne was and how her eyes and smile were such a welcoming open invitation that naturally drew people in.

JoAnne's passion for beading and crafts was an important expression of who she was. She shared this with friends during her travels. She loved this and always looked forward to it.

JoAnne will be greatly missed. She truly was a gift to those she surrounded herself with. Her appreciation for life and past experiences are forever cherished and will go on.

She is survived by her husband, Daniel Schank; daughters, Judy Wacker and Monica Schank; sister, Mazie Thompson; brother, Daniel (Harry) Jamison; granddaughters, Zia and Zailey Wacker, Alexus and McKenna; niece, Denna Diaz; nephew, Danny Modenessi; great-niece, Candace Diaz; and great-nephews, Manuel and Arthur Diaz and Aaron, Bryson and Zayvier Modenessi; and many other aunts, uncles and cousins.
