05.14.2018 Dean Rhodes Letters

Dear Smoke Signals:

I’ve recently been diagnosed with small cell gallbladder carcinoma. As you can imagine, this came as quite a shock and has been a stressful time for our family. This cancer is extremely rare and often not diagnosed until it is very advanced. It is a miracle that mine was found early enough to give us hope for remission.

I have begun taking steps to treat this and get on with healing and living life. The treatment will include chemo and radiation during most of the summer months. I have wonderful doctors who are doing everything they can to get my health back on track.

Words cannot fully express our appreciation for the hospital visits, support and prayers. Thanks so much for taking the time to be with me during the special prayer service. It was such a wonderful blessing to see those who were in the seats and knowing there were many more who were there in spirit.

Thank you for your acts of kindness. We pray in turn that you will be blessed by the loving hand of God.

“Father, You are present in the eye of the storm, always guiding and directing my path.”
