Most Reservation timberlands re-opening on Thursday, Aug. 27

With the continued evening humidity recovery, forecasted lower temperatures and a chance of rain, Natural Resources staff has made the decision to reopen the access gates leading to the Reservation timberlands, in accordance with our Access Management Plan. The Reservation timberlands will open at 8 a.m. Thursday, Aug 27, with the exception of Big Buck Campground, which will remain closed. In addition to the Big Buck Campground closure, roads 510 and 112 will remain closed to vehicle access due to increased fire risk in the area; however, walk-in access is permitted. Tribal Council and staff will continue to monitor weather conditions and fire severity to determine if another closure is necessary.
